Privacy policy
Last updated: September 18, 2026
Morphace operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the "Services"). Morphace is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other transaction using the Services or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using and accessing any of the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Personal Information We Collect or Process
When we use the term "personal information," we are referring to information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another person. Personal information does not include information that is collected anonymously or that has been de-identified, so that it cannot identify or be reasonably linked to you. We may collect or process the following categories of personal information, including inferences drawn from this personal information, depending on how you interact with the Services, where you live, and as permitted or required by applicable law:
- Contact details including your name, address, billing address, shipping address, phone number, and email address.
- Financial information including credit card, debit card, and financial account numbers, payment card information, financial account information, transaction details, form of payment, payment confirmation and other payment details.
- Account information including your username, password, security questions, preferences and settings.
- Transaction information including the items you view, put in your cart, add to your wishlist, or purchase, return, exchange or cancel and your past transactions.
- Communications with us including the information you include in communications with us, for example, when sending a customer support inquiry.
- Device information including information about your device, browser, or network connection, your IP address, and other unique identifiers.
- Usage information including information regarding your interaction with the Services, including how and when you interact with or navigate the Services.
The Morphace App and Mask
This section applies when you use the Morphace mobile app and the Morphace mask (the "Device"). It adds to the rest of this policy; where the two differ for the app, this section applies.
Information the app collects
- Account details. Your email address, name, and password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider). Account creation and sign-in are handled by Amazon Cognito.
- Profile details you give us. Age, gender, skin type, skin concerns, target areas, country, and ethnicity, if you choose to provide them. They are used to interpret your measurements and personalise insights. All of them are optional.
- Skin measurements. When you take a reading with the Device, the app records temperature, electrical impedance, and humidity for each facial zone measured, together with the date and time. These measurements are used to calculate your skin scores (hydration, barrier strength, sensitivity) and trends. They are information about your body, and we treat them as sensitive.
- Device details. The serial number, hardware revision, and firmware version of the Device you use, and when it was last used with your account. We use these to support the Device, deliver firmware updates, and link readings to the unit that produced them.
- Products and routines. Products you save, routines you build, likes, and reviews you write, and any product photos you submit for our catalogue. Reviews and catalogue submissions may be shown to other users without your name.
- Membership and payment status. Whether you hold a trial, a pass, or a paid membership, and its dates. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and technical logs from the app (phone or tablet model, operating system version, app version, and the error), used to keep the app working.
How we use it
- To show you your skin scores, zone map, and trends over time.
- To generate insights and suggestions from your readings. For this, a de-identified summary of your recent measurements and profile (never your name or email) is sent to OpenAI, which processes it on our instructions and does not use it to train its models.
- To provide the membership features you are entitled to.
- To improve the accuracy of the Device and the app, including comparing measurements across users in de-identified form.
- To support you, secure your account, and meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your measurements or profile, and we do not use them for advertising.
Where it is processed
Your app data is stored and processed on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Insights are generated by OpenAI in the United States. Payments are processed by Stripe. Crash reports are processed by Sentry. Each of these providers acts on our instructions under a contract that restricts what they may do with your information. Because these providers are outside Canada, your information may be subject to the laws of the countries where it is processed.
How long we keep it
We keep your app data for as long as your account exists. Membership and payment records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law (currently seven years) even after your account is closed. Diagnostic logs are kept for 90 days.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the app (Me › Account › Delete account). When you do:
- Your account is disabled immediately. You will not be able to sign in and we will stop sending you any messages.
- For 30 days you can change your mind: signing in again during that period restores your account and all of your data.
- After 30 days your account is permanently deleted: your email, name, profile, device links, insights, saved products, and routines are erased and cannot be recovered. Reviews and catalogue submissions you made remain without your name.
- Your skin measurements are kept only in a de-identified form that cannot be linked back to you or to your Device (no account, no serial number, no exact time), for the purpose of improving our measurement algorithms. If you would rather have them deleted, you can turn on "Delete my measurements with my account" in the app (Me › Privacy) at any time, tick "Also delete my skin measurements" when you delete your account, or contact us within the 30 days and we will delete them. After the 30 days, the measurements can no longer be linked to you, so we are no longer able to identify and delete them.
Records we must keep by law, such as payment records, are kept for the legally required period and then deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to withdraw consent, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. In Canada these rights are set out in PIPEDA and, in Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, they are set out in the GDPR, and you may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. If you are in California, they are set out in the CCPA.
You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app: your profile can be edited in the Me tab, your readings can be viewed there, and your account can be deleted as described above. For anything else, contact us at privacy@morphace.com. We respond within 30 days.
Children
The app is not intended for anyone under the age of majority where they live. We do not knowingly create accounts for them; if you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Contact for the app
Questions about this section, or about how the app handles your information, can be sent to privacy@morphace.com or to Morphace, 7 King St E, Unit 909, Toronto ON M5C 3C5, Canada.
